    Salsabeel Cafe @ ICJC: Barista

    Location: Islamic Center of Johnson County – Overland Park, KS
    Position Type: Various – Part-Time, Full-Time, or Volunteer
    Contract Duration: 12 Months
    Reports To: ICJC Administrator/Coffee Shop Manager

    Position Overview:

    The ICJC Coffee Shop Barista will provide high-quality customer service and beverage preparation in a welcoming, community-centered environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about coffee, enjoy working in a fast-paced setting, and are eager to contribute to a vibrant social space within the masjid.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Customer Service & Hospitality:

    • Greet customers warmly and take drink/snack orders accurately.

    • Provide a positive and friendly experience for guests, maintaining a welcoming environment.

    Beverage & Food Preparation:

    • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages to standard recipes.

    • Handle basic food preparation, such as heating pastries or assembling simple snack items.

    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.

    Operations & Cleanliness:

    • Operate coffee shop equipment including espresso machines, grinders, and POS systems.

    • Restock inventory and monitor supplies as needed.

    • Clean equipment and service areas regularly according to health and safety guidelines.

    Teamwork & Communication:

    • Collaborate with team leads, volunteers, and other staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

    • Take direction from the Lead and escalate any concerns or suggestions for improvement.

    Time Commitment:

    • Flexible scheduling available. Shifts may include weekday, evening, or weekend hours depending on program and community traffic.

    • Volunteers, part-time, and full-time options available based on availability and experience.
